Step into a sacred mid-week sanctuary designed to soothe your body, calm your mind, and replenish your spirit. This 60-minute Yin Yoga class offers a gentle pause from the demands of life—a space to unwind, reflect, and reconnect with your inner stillness. Set in the serene atmosphere of The Barn in Mariemont, each session becomes a quiet ritual of self-care and soulful restoration.
Yin Yoga is the art of stillness—a meditative practice that nourishes the deeper layers of the body and mind. Through long-held, supported postures, we soften connective tissues, invite energetic flow, and cultivate patience and surrender. Unlike active, muscular styles of yoga, Yin invites us to be rather than do, to rest in presence, and to rediscover the beauty of slowing down. This deep stillness offers not only physical release but also emotional clarity and nervous system balance.
Interwoven through this practice are the timeless teachings of yoga philosophy. Each week, we explore reflections from the Yamas and Niyamas, the Yoga Sutras, or the Bhagavad Gita—ancient wisdom that guides us toward compassion, truthfulness, contentment, and surrender. These conversations offer gentle insights into how yoga extends beyond the mat, inviting a more conscious and harmonious way of living. As the body softens, the mind opens to wisdom that feels both ancient and profoundly relevant to modern life.
Adding another layer of healing, Reiki energy is shared throughout each class. As a certified Reiki Master and teacher, Jen invites Reiki students in training to practice during class as part of their certification process. Their gentle touch offers subtle, nurturing energy that enhances relaxation, supports emotional release, and deepens the meditative experience. Together, Yin and Reiki create a vibrational field of balance and renewal—body, mind, and spirit.
Mid-Week Recharge is more than a yoga class—it’s a journey inward. A mid-week reset that allows you to rest deeply, breathe fully, and awaken to your innate calm. Come as you are, and leave feeling grounded, open, and at peace—ready to carry that stillness into the rest of your week.
Students will need to bring their own supplies. Yoga mat, blocks, nice yummy blanket, a firm pillow (couch pillows work well) but preferably a bolster.
