November 21 - December 12 (No Class Dec 5) (4 class meetups)
Figure drawing remains one of the most effective ways to improve your drawing skills, with a focus on line quality, proportion, and the understanding of three-dimensional form. Whether you’re building a portfolio, refreshing your skillset, or exploring the human form for the first time, this course offers a structured path toward stronger, more confident artwork.
Each class is organized around the essentials of great drawing:
Gesture studies — Build confidence in capturing movement and energy through quick poses.
Anatomy fundamentals — Learn how skeletal and muscular structures inform realistic drawing.
Light and form — Develop the ability to render the illusion of three-dimensional volume using the play of light and shadow across the body.
Long‑pose development — Create more refined drawings with extended time and significant instructor guidance. You will also learn a great deal from the work of your fellow artists.
Constructive ongoing critiques — Receive supportive feedback to help you develop your technical skills and discover your artistic voice.
Class Fee: $215 by cash, check or Venmo
Format: In‑studio instruction with a professional nude model
Skill Level: Beginners welcome; experienced artists encouraged
Materials: Bring your preferred dry media (charcoal, graphite, conté). A Materials List is provided when you register by phone, text or email.
