Elizabeth (Beth) Schott 

Open Studio for Adults

Thursdays from 1-3:30pm

January 8 through May 21, 2026

 

All receive on-on-one instruction at their easel and through group discussion and critiques. The class forms a wonderful camaraderie that creates an environment for improving skills and lasting friendships. Cost is $30 per class, with arrangement for missed class. Bio

Elizabeth W. Schott is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, who received her BFA in Fine Arts and Education from Emory and Henry College in the arts-rich community of Abingdon, Virginia. While attending E&H she participated her sophomore and senior years in Rome, Italy studying Roman Art and Archaeology, in the January program.

 

Beth studied Appalachian crafts and pottery at Virginia Intermont. She attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati for sculpture, and completed her postgraduate work in Advertising Design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

 

She has been fortunate to continue her studies internationally with; Robert Liberace (Florida, Ireland, Brugge, England), William Whitaker (Arizona), Marvin Mattelson (North Carolina), Joy Thomas (Cincinnati), Tim Tyler (Indiana), Rob Howard (Massachusetts) and David Kassan (Cincinnati).

 

Beth has appeared in "International Artist" magazine's portrait showcase and was honored to be chosen as one of the artists to participate in the exhibit "Faces of the 'Fallen", in a tribute to fallen soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq. She is a past/current, juried member of the Pastel Society of America and the Cincinnati Art Club, the Portrait Society of America and A Stroke of Genius Portrait artist and was formerly represented by Details.

 

She worked with author, Virginia Berten as the illustrator on three of Ms. Berten's books: "Littsie of Cincinnati", "Littsie and the Underground Railroad" which received IPPY bronze/silver awards, and "Jake and Sam at the Empty Abby", a recipient of a silver medal, in the juvenile book division of Moonbeams Children's Book Awards.

 

Beth has become a respected teacher of art in Cincinnati. She's taught through her personal studio, the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center, Cincinnati Art Academy and currently holds classes at The Barn.
