Pan Pastels with Charlie Perger

This workshop is for artists who have some previous experience in drawing and/or painting, but are interested in getting to know a new medium and enhance their artistic skills! 
 
Pan pastels is a combination of drawing and painting using powdered pigment and a range of soft mark-making tools. The dry materials and ease of application will open you up to a new world of painting!
 
You’ll learn the benefits of color mixing with a limited palette -- how to start with a strong composition -- and get much better at effective color mixing. We’ll focus on developing a strong composition and effective color application, but our primary focus will be learning to paint more loosely and with greater confidence.
 
In this small-group session you'll take your abilities to a higher level with three hours of concentrated exploration and significant personal feedback each week. You’ll return to your studio with confidence and the skills to make strong, personal paintings.
 
Tools and materials provided for the first session! Charlie will provide individual students with a small set of pan pastels if they do not already have them. From there, he will share a Materials List.
